on the recovery path it can be so difficult trusting again, particularly trusting one's body. the relationship has changed and needs support challenging negative self talk, identifying 'thought traps' and obstaining from compulsive and disaligned movement. in this group, we identify these and other barriers, process what 'once was', also known as 'the grief', learn and practice interventions inclusive of somatic, narrative with body neutrality and body positivity focus/cognitive, spiritual and meditative practices to support rebuilding relationship to body. this will be an 8 week circle/group with options to extend.
we are currently in the sign up phase with intention to begin early October 2025 for both inperson and virtual settings.
recovering from an eating disorder can feel insurmountable, yet there is joy and light on the other side. we know this from experience. don't give up! often as a 'stepdown' plan to outpatient care from intensive outpatient care, or continuing and even beginning treatment with outpatient providers, is for the recovering person to create and adhere to a new meal plan, alter their exercise regimen, address career challenges, identify new hobbies, rebuild ties within friendships and family, create new relationships, schedule outpatient appointments etc.. what is often less likely and or shortlived is the grief process. not only can a person lose themselves to an eating disorder, but may also be grieving for the 'lost self'. in addition, there is a loss of the the eating disorder lending to it's own grief. having space to process this grief is vital in recovery. the group will be a 12 week series with ongoing holistic curriculum to support various and multiple phases and expressions of grief.
we are currently in the sign up phase with intention to begin late September 2025. this will be an online virtual group.
